NEW YORK: The death toll due to COVID-19 crossed 2,17,000 worldwide and the number of cases climbed to 31 lakh. More than nine lakh people have been cured of the disease. More number of patients and deaths have been reported in the USA.
More than 2200 people have succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours in America. With this, the death toll rose to 58,351. Nearly 25,000 have been tested positive of the virus yesterday. There are more than 10 lakh patients in the US. There are reports that many states continue to relax lockdown restrictions despite the spread of the disease.
In Spain, Britain and Italy, daily death rates have come below 400. More than 23,800 have died in Spain where there are more than 2 lakh patients. In Italy, 27359 have died. The death toll rose to 21,678 in Britain. Meantime, there is no fall in the spread of the virus in Gulf countries. More than 20,000 have contracted the disease in Saudi Arabia. Authorities are on high alert as relaxations were given in lockdown during Ramzan.
