WASHINGTON: Coronavirus has claimed the lives of 227,247 across the world. World Health Organization (WHO) said the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased again in the United States. Nearly 2502 people have died in the last 24 hours. 10,64,194 people have been confirmed of the virus. 28,429 fresh cases were reported Wednesday alone. 147,411 have been cured of the disease. New York has reported the highest number of deaths. Total deaths crosses 61,000.
Death toll is rising in Britain. 795 people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours. Death toll rose to 26,097. An average of more than 900 people are dying in UK every day. Though death toll fell to 500- 600 over the past two days, the health department said the spread of the virus will not be immediately controlled. The health department predicted that 20,000 will die in the country.
In Spain, Italy and France, the number of deaths fell to less than 500 on Wednesday. Of the 2.3 lakh infected in Italy, 27,682 people have lost their lives. In Spain, 24,275 have died so far. Death toll in France crosses 24,000. 7501 have died in Belgium and 6367 in Germany. In Iran, deaths are nearing 6000. 5500 have died in Brazil.
