THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Recent report claims that five special non-stop trains have been permitted to transport stranded migrant workers from Kerala. These trains will begin their journeys from major stations such as Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. It is learnt that the Kerala government is holding talks with various state governments regarding the matter.
Meanwhile, the first non-stop train carrying migrant labourers from Kerala will leave Aluva railway station at 6 pm. The train, bound for Odisha, will carry around 1200 migrant workers, the report said. Only those migrant workers who have registered through the state labour department will be allowed to return to their states.
