THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government on Saturday issued a new set of guidelines for the extended lockdown. While stating that complete shutdown will be enforced on Sundays, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan added that neither shops nor offices should function on those days. He also added that vehicles will not be allowed to ply on roads on Sundays.

According to the Chief Minister, people might initially face some difficulties due to the complete shutdown on Sundays. However, he added that people must cooperate and help the authorities in containing the spread of the virus by remaining in their homes.

The CM further stated that 50 per cent of government employees belonging to A, B groups and 33 per cent employees belonging to C, D groups must report for duty till May 15.
