THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Inter-district travel will be allowed except for hotspots, CM Vijayan said. Special permission is needed for such travels and the travel should be in private vehicles. In cars, only driver and two passengers are allowed. Those who travel like this need not follow quarantine rules, he said.
However, night travel will be restricted. Restrictions will be imposed on the basis of the centre's guidelines and also by considering the state's specialty.
Relaxations in the state
In green zones, shops will be allowed to open from 7 am to 7.30 pm. This will be allowed six days a week. People should follow social distancing. The orange zone should follow current guidelines.
Service sector institutions in the green zone can function with a maximum of 50 percent employees. No change in the current orange zone guidelines.
Hotels are places except for that in hotspots should open for parcel service only. People are not allowed to dine in.
Institutions registered under the Shops and Establishment Act can follow the present situation.
Small scale textile shops with not more than one floor can function with less than five employees. This relaxation is only applicable in the green and orange zones.
Taxis, Uber, and other cab services will be allowed with restrictions. Only the driver and two passengers are allowed.
No restrictions are in place for goods vehicles. People can step out for essential matters between 7 am to 7.30 pm. People older than 65 years and children younger than 10 years should stay at home. Vehicle movement will be allowed in red zones only for urgent and necessary matters. For two-wheelers, only the rider will be allowed.
For farming and industries, the earlier declared relaxations will be allowed.
