THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has issued a set of guidelines for those people who are planning to return to the state amid the nationwide lockdown. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday said that all arrangements have been made for the people stranded in other states.

According to the chief minister, priority will be given to pregnant women, senior citizens, students and those who have gone for special holiday camps. The government will inform them the time to reach state borders, he said. He also added that proper medical check-up will be carried out and people with symptoms will be quarantined, while others can go for home quarantine.

The Chief Minister said ward-level monitoring committees will be set up with representatives from local bodies, police, resident associations, ASHA workers, pensioners, government servants etc to ensure the safety of senior citizens and kids as lockdown relaxations come into effect.

As of now, 1.36 lakh Malayalis have registered with NORKA to come back to the state.
