THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A day of relief as Kerala reported no COVID-19 cases on Sunday. One patient was cured of the disease today, thereby taking the tally of total recoveries to 401, health minister KK Shailaja said.
Four new hotspots were declared in the state-Mananthavady in Wayanad, Edakkattuvayal Panchayat in Ernakulam, Manthalloor Panchayat, and Santhanpara Panchayat in Idukki. As of Sunday, there are 84 hotspots in the state.
A Kasaragod native under treatment in a hospital in Kannur tested negative for the virus. 95 patients are under treatment at various hospitals in the state. At present 21,720 persons are under observation in the state, including 388 at hospitals. On Sunday, 63 persons were admitted to hospitals. Samples of 32,217 persons (including augmented samples) were sent for testing. Test results of 31,611 returned negative.
As part of the sentinel service, 2391 samples of health workers, migrant workers, and individuals with more social contact were sent for testing. Of this, 1683 samples turned negative.
