THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday announced that three more persons have tested positive for coronavirus in the state. All the three newly infected persons are from Wayanad and have contracted the disease through contact with infected persons.
The newly infected patients have been identified as the mother and wife of a truck driver who had visited the Koyambedu market in Chennai and the son of the cleaner in the lorry.
Meanwhile, no negative cases were reported in the state on Tuesday. At present, 37 persons are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the state.
Out of the 21,342 kept under observation, 21,034 are in home-quarantine while 308 are in hospitals, he added. He also added that there are no new COVID hotspots in the state. So far, 502 persons have tested positive for coronavirus in the state.
The chief minister also expressed concern regarding the Indian expatriates who are stranded in various parts of the world.
