NEW DELHI: The return of non-resident Keralites (NoRKS) stranded in UAE via ships will be delayed. The reason for the delay is that the UAE government has not given permission for the ships to enter the port. The ships off the coast of Dubai are awaiting permission. The authorities of the naval ships informed that they received a notification from UAE saying that clearance would be delayed.

It was earlier informed that the ships would reach Dubai on Thursday but now there is no confirmation about it. It has been hinted that the UAE Government has informed India that arrangements for the ships to enter the port is not yet completed and some more time is needed for it. As clearance has not been obtained from the UAE Government, the ships are still in the sea.

There are also reports that ships may be diverted to the Iranian coast. Navy’s two warships left for UAE to bring back the Indians stranded there. Each ship can accommodate 300 people each.
