KOCHI: The first two flights carrying stranded Indians from Abu Dhabi and Dubai landed tonight in Kochi and Kozhikode respectively.
The first flight from Abu Dhabi carrying 181 passengers landed at the Kochi airport by around 10.08 pm. It consisted of 49 pregnant women and four children. The second flight carrying 182 passengers from Dubai reached Kozhikode airport at around 10.30 pm. It had 19 pregnant women and five toddlers.
It is learnt none of the passengers has shown any Covid-19 symptoms so far. Authorities have begun shifting the expats to quarantine centres in their respective districts.
Upon reaching the airports, the expats underwent medical screening before getting transported to various quarantine centres across the state. Expats from Ernakulam district and a Kasargod native have been shifted to the SCMS COllege hostel in Kalamassery. Meanwhile, pregnant women were allowed to go to their respective homes.
