KOTTAYAM: A youth beat his wife to death following suspicion of his wife’s extra-marital affair. The youth later attempted suicide and is now under observation at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Sathish (38) of Nagambadom is under the observation of the police. He was admitted to the hospital after he attempted suicide soon after committing the murder. His condition is stated to be serious. The incident happened last night at his house in Nagambadom.

A dispute broke out between Sathish and his wife Mini (46) following suspicion of his wife’s extra-marital affair. Mini fell unconscious soon after he beat him. Sathish later attempted suicide by hanging. The nearby residents cut the rope he hung and informed the police. A team led by circle inspector Cleitus K Joseph rushed him to the hospital. Mini’s body is presently at the mortuary of Kottayam Medical College.
