KOCHI: By Friday noon, Indian Navy’s INS Jalashwa will leave Maldives with Indians who are stranded there. The ship is expected to reach Kochi on Sunday morning.
The Indians will be allowed to board the ship only after they are subjected to Rapid Test and Thermal screening. Indians stranded in different parts of Maldives have reached the port by bus or boat.
Meanwhile, Kochi port has made all preparations to receive the expats arriving by ship. Kochi Port trust will be in charge of screening the passengers. Before arrival, the passengers will have to give their details in the e-declaration form issued by the Navy.
KSRTC has kept 30 buses ready to shift the expats to quarantine centres. The health workers will take passengers for medical examination and Immigration clearance after ensuring that they follow social distancing protocol.
Special centres have also been arranged for people with Covid symptoms.
All passengers will be supplied with BSNL SIM card. They will be taken to quarantine centres only after they install Arogya Sethu App in their mobile phones.
