KASARGOD: Expats arriving in Kasargod district will be shifted to Covid care centres set up in the southern regions of the district. Fluids will be collected from expats at quarantine centres and sent for lab test.

Sub-collector will be in charge of coordinating the activities. The district administration has identified 380 lodges for lodging expats who don’t have quarantine facilities at home. The room rent will be charged on daily basis with the permission of the government.

Respective local body institutions will be in charge of supplying food to expats in these lodges.The government will provide the facility for quarantine for those who have no money to pay the rent.

The expense of Rs 60/head (Rs 45 for child) towards the payment of food will born by Chief minister’s relief fund. The collector has deputed district transport officer and RTO for arranging special KSRTC buses to take expats from airports to quarantine centres. Each bus will be allowed to carry only 24 passengers.

People coming from other states will also be accommodated at quarantine centres at southern regions of the district.
