KOZHIKODE: Two Covid-19 cases were reported in the state on Saturday. The newly infected persons have been identified as Malappuram natives who had returned from the Middle East on May 7. Following this, authorities have taken all necessary measures to keep their co-passengers under strict observation.

Among the two, one person has been identified as a 39-year-old male who had reached the Karipur airport on May 7. Upon arrival, the person, who had returned from Dubai, was directly taken to the Kozhikode Medical College as he was suffering from Kidney related ailments.

The other person, who tested positive in Kochi, has been identified as a 24-year-old who had returned from Abu Dhabi on May 7. The person was also kept in quarantine at the Ernakulam Medical College Hospital as he had experienced symptoms of COVID-19.
