KOTTAYAM: In a tragic incident, a two-year-old kid and his mother died after they drowned in a stream by the side of the house. The deceased have been identified as Oby Babu(34) and her son Adwaith(2).

The accident took place on Sunday afternoon near Kothanallur in Kottayam. According to sources, Adwaith was playing on the premises when he accidentally fell into the stream. It is learnt that Oby might have jumped into the river to save the child.

The dead bodies were later discovered by some relatives. Following this, the police were informed and the dead bodies were recovered with the help of the fire force. The accident took place when Oby's husband Aneesh, a well manufacturing labourer, had gone out for work. The dead bodies are currently kept in the mortuary at Kottayam Medical College Hospital.
