THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a recent development, the Kerala government has decided to remove Revenue Principal Secretary Dr Venu from the post of CEO of Rebuild Kerala Initiative(RKI). An order regarding this was issued by the Chief Secretary after meeting with the Chief Minister on Sunday. Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Rajesh Kumar Singh has been given the charge of CEO of RKI. Meanwhile, Venu will continue to be a member of the RKI.

It is learnt that the government had been considering to remove Venu from the post of CEO ever since he expressed his displeasure over the removal of a Survey Director without informing him. He had even threatened that he would go on leave if the Survey Director was not reposted.

The removal of Venu from the post of CEO comes at a time when the RKI is working to secure the second tranche of funds from the World Bank for rebuilding the flood-affected state.
