KOTTAYAM: Following a let-up in Covid pandemic in Kerala, the factional feud in Kerala Congress (M) that had remained dormant for months has again reared its ugly head.
The row is currently over the post of Kottayam district panchayat. The infight has been triggered by Joseph by suggesting the name of Ajith Muthiramala.
Joseph has also asked UDF State leadership to intervene in the issue. Parliamentary party secretary Mons Joseph MLA and Party State general secretary Joy Abraham have given a letter to Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, former chief minister Oommen Chandy, KPCC president Mullapally Ramachnadran and UDF convenor Benny Behannan in this regard.
Earlier, when there was argument over the post, the UDF leadership had intervened and appointed Sebastian Kulathungal of Kerala Jose faction in that post. The agreement then was that the term of office should be shared.
But now, Sunny Thekkedam of Joseph group says that such an agreement was not made then. Meanwhile, DCC president Joshy Philip has countered Sunny’s argument.
