THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Power Minister M M Mani and KSEB chairman N S Pillai have said electricity consumers will not lose subsidy if it has happened due to erratic billing.

As there was delay in billing due to lockdown, the number of days billed increased, due to which there was change in slabs, resulting in increased bill amount.

Kerala Kaumudi had published a report on this the other. Mani and Pillai were responding to this report, clearing the confusion over the billing.

According to the instruction of the minister, arrangements have been made in all section offices for redress the grievance of consumers.

“Assistant Engineer and Senior supt in Section offices will be in charge of this. Those who come with bills will get it rectified if there was any error during billing. Those who have paid the bill will get the amount adjusted during the next billing,” they said.

The minister added that the bill amount might have increased since it had been lockdown as well as summer days and most people stayed indoors.
