KANNUR: Migrant labourers ,who had come out onto the streets in protest during the lockdown with the vehement demand that they be sent back to their home states, are now yearning to come back to Kerala.
They suddenly got the feeling that Kerala is heaven when they were asked to draw columns and stay inside it at quarantine centres in their home states.
On the other hand, at observation camps in Kerala, government and NGOs even supplied them with carom board and LED TVs to kill time.
Despite the availability of all these facilities a major chunk had created commotion and apparently went on a rampage in a few places in Kerala to force the government to facilitate their immediate return. Ironically it is these people who now want to get back to Kerala.
Most of the migrant workers who returned to their home state after a long gap are not also not getting enough food to eat. Following this embarrassing situation, many have submitted application to their respective district authorities to allow them return to Kerala.
