THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Indian Met department has informed that the low pressure area formed above Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify and turn into a cyclone on Saturday.
The cyclone that will start from the North-West direction may later turn to Western side of Bay of Bengal. In several parts of Kerala, there will be heavy rain, wind and lighting during this time.
On the basis of this forecast, Yellow alert was declared in the following districts:
1) Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad – Saturday
2) Ernakulam, Idukki, Alappuzha, Palakkad, Thrissur - Monday
Meanwhile, State Disaster Management Authority has informed that till now Kerala is not in the trajectory of Amfan cyclone that is taking shape above Bay of Bengal.
