THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The IMD has issued a forewarning of heavy rain with thunderstorms in several parts of the state in the next five days. As a precaution, a yellow alert has been sounded in many districts.
From May 15 to May 20, there is a possibility for sudden wind along with heavy rain and thunderstorms, the IMD said. The public is advised to strictly follow the safety guidelines issued by state disaster management authority.
There is a possibility for lightning from 2 pm to 10 pm, which may continue late into the night. These are dangerous and can be fatal to human beings. Electronic devices connected to power runs the risk of getting damaged. The disaster management authority has announced the lightning as a special disaster.
