THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja on Saturday announced that 11 more persons have tested positive for novel coronavirus in the state. Out of these 11, 4 are from Thrissur, 3 are from Kozhikode and 2 each are from Palakkad and Malappuram districts. Among these, 7 have returned from abroad while 2 each have returned from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, 4 infected persons tested negative on Saturday. Among them, two are from Wayanad and two are from Kannur. At present, 87 persons are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the state. The minister added that 497 people have recovered from the infection in the state.

At least 56,981 people are under observation in the state at present, of whom 619 are in various hospitals.

While 2,911 people came to the state through airports, 793 did so from seaports, 1021 through rail and 50,320 via checkposts, a press release said. So far, samples of 43,669 (including Augment samples) have been sent for testing. The results available of 41,814 samples turned out negative, the release added.
