THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Since the nationwide lockdown has been extended till May 31, a final decision on the Kerala SSLC exams that were scheduled to begin on May 26 will be taken on Monday. Earlier, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs had issued a set of guidelines which stated that schools in the country will remain closed till the end of May.
It must be noted that the pending SSLC and Plus two exams that were postponed due to the nationwide lockdown were rescheduled and set to be held from May 26 to May 29. According to sources, the Education Department might have to postpone these exams further due to the extension of the lockdown.
Meanwhile, SSLC exam valuation and school admission procedures for the next academic year will begin from Monday onwards. The admission procedures will commence in those schools that remained closed for the last 2 months due to the coronavirus crisis.
Students and parents can come to the schools and take admission by observing the COVID-19 protocols. Admissions can also be taken online through the Sampoorna portal.
