KOLLAM: Around 1200 Indian students including 318 Keralites who are pursuing higher education in Tajikistan have been stranded in the country in the midst of coronavirus crisis. It must be noted that the conditions in the country are worsening as over 1300 persons have tested positive for coronavirus in the last two weeks.
As per the Vande Bharat Mission, two Air India flights have been scheduled to transport stranded Indians from Tajikistan to Kannur and Jaipur on May 27. However, this can hardly solve the problem as only a maximum of 150 passengers will be allowed to board the flight. Following this, the students are demanding the authorities to schedule more flight services from the country in order to evacuate the rest of the people. The Malayali students have also requested the state ministers to intervene in the matter.
