KOZHIKODE: Transport Minister A K Saseendran said the police will probe the incident of attacking private buses which operated services yesterday. Talking to the media, he said this has been brought to the notice of the city police commissioner. Private buses interested in operating services will be given protection.

The buses are plying as per the directive of the government. So, protection should be ensured for them. The window panes of Kolakkadan which operated services yesterday and M M Banares which was to begin service today were found smashed. The buses operated on the Mukkam-Kozhikode route. The buses were attacked in the place where they were halted after service. There were threats from some side for operating the services.

The owners of buses had the other day informed that they would operate services even after bearing the loss as per the directive of the government. A few buses including the attacked buses had operated services in Kozhikode city and rural areas yesterday.
