MUMBAI: Owing to Kerala's opposition, a special Shramik train from Maharashtra to Kerala was cancelled at the last moment. The cancelled Thane-Ernakulam Junction train was scheduled to depart from 6 pm.
Though the permission of Kerala is not needed to run the train, it was cancelled respecting an official request from the state, the nodal officer in Thane told the passengers. The entire cost of the journey is shouldered by the Maharashtra government. Last day, a train from Mumbai arrived at Thiruvananthapuram.
