CHERUPUZHA: Several people including a magistrate, an advocate, policemen and court employees have been placed under quarantine after an accused who surrendered at the court tested positive for coronavirus. The accused had surrendered at the Payyannur judicial first class magistrate court on May 21 for shooting a porcupine and was later to Kannur sub-jail.
Upon reaching the sub-jail, the accused was made to undergo COVID-19 test. Soon after the test result returned positive, the magistrate, advocate, police officials who escorted the accused and the court employees were moved to quarantine. Following this, the court premises and police station premises were disinfected by the fire force.
