KOLLAM: Child of Uthra, who died of snake bite, has been handed to his mother’s parents. The act was following the order of the Child Welfare Committee. Father of Sooraj, first accused in the case, along with police brought the child at his mother’s place in Anchal. Soon after the directive to hand over the one-and-a-half-year-old child to Uthra’s parents was obtained, Sooraj’s parents shifted the child from their house. The child was brought home following the intervention of the police.
The police had yesterday searched Sooraj’s and his relative’s house nearby but could not find the child. His family first told police that the child was taken to Ernakulam by his mother, but the police did not believe it. The police believed that the child was there itself and conducted a search in the night also. Following pressure from the side of the police, Sooraj’s father told them that they are in his relative’s house.
