THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said Quarantine expense will be charged only form those Malayali expats who can afford it.

“The government will not trouble poor people and only look up to well-to-do expats who can bear the expense. The details of this will be informed later,” the chief minister said.

The chief minister said certain organisations abroad have been trying to send expats to Kerala in charter flights but the government should be informed about it well in advance. Only then, necessary arrangements can be made. The matter will be discussed later and decisions on it will be taken later as also the decision on the reopening of worshipping places.

“Those who come from abroad should mandatorily register in the government’s portal. The government will take strict action if they come without informing the government,” he added.
