THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State president K Surendran has said that in the wake of Covid transmission raising anxiety, the State should increase the number of tests conducted every day.
He made this suggestion in the all-party meeting held on Wednesday.
“Many including experts suspect communal transmission in the State. Even people who have not come into contact with patients have turned positive for Covid. The government’s policy has been to do minimum tests to show the number of Covid patients to be less.
This will lead to a big tragedy,” Surendran said.
Surendran said the government has been going back on its words to help the poor who are in crisis following Covid restrictions.
“The government should make arrangements to ensure that money reached them directly. At least give Rs 2500 to ration card holders through Ration Shop.
NRKs should be given free quarantine facility,” he added.
