MALAPPURAM: Jinsi, an Alappuzha Aryanad native woman, who was cured of COVID-19, gave birth to a healthy baby girl at the Manjeri Medical College hospital in Malappuram. Sources said that the woman gave birth to the child by cesarean section by around 10 am on Thursday and the health condition of both the mother and the son are stable.

Jinsi, who is a staff nurse in Kuwait, had reached Kozhikode International Airport on May 13. Upon reaching the airport, she was admitted to the hospital and her test results soon returned positive. By May 22, she was transferred to the step-down ICU after her test results returned negative. The surgery was conducted under the leadership of Gynaecology department head Dr Jacob by taking necessary safety measures.
