NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Friday refused to divulge information about the PM CARES FUNDS to a Right to Information applicant by pointing out that the reserve was not a "public authority" under the RTI act.
It was a law student from Bengaluru who filed an RTI application seeking details about the constitution of the PM CARES Fund. He had sought for copies of the fund's trust deed and all government documents related to it.
While stating that the PM CARES Fund is not a public authority under the ambit of section 2(h) of the RTI Act, 2005, the PMO added that relevant information in respect of the fund may be available on the website pmcares.gov.in.
