KANNUR: A health worker attempted suicide in Kannur. She took the extreme step worried over the false propaganda that she violated quarantine. The condition of the health worker of New Mahi Primary Health Centre continues to be critical. She has been admitted at the Pariyaram Medical College.

Her suicide note mentioned that she is taking the drastic step worried over the false propaganda that she is careless in her job and not adhering hygiene rules. I don’t know why some are behaving like that when I am working honestly. For the past three months I have been working without taking any leave. Some are levelling baseless things against me. I go house to house and treat patients. The primary health centre has not obtained any complaint against me. The situation of community nurses like me are very pathetic, her note said.

She tried to commit suicide by taking twenty tablets for blood pressure. Her suicide note is found circulating through Whatspp. Her note said that four including her co-worker are responsible for her death.
