NEW DELHI: India on Sunday recorded its highest ever spike in COVID-19 cases as 8380 persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus in last 24 hours. With this, India's tally reached 1,82,143 lakh cases and the country went past the tallies of Germany and France to climb up to the seventh spot in the list of nations worst affected by the pandemic.

While the USA is at the top of the list with 1,819,792 COVID-19 cases, Brazil(5.01 lakh) and Russia(4.05 lakh) are at the second and third spot respectively. Other countries that are placed above India are Spain (2.86 lakh), Britain (2.72 lakh) and Italy (2.32 lakh).
