KOLLAM: The Crime Branch on Monday arrested Surendran, father of accused Sooraj, in connection with the murder of Sooraj's wife Uthra. The arrest was made around 9.30 pm after several hours of interrogation.

Earlier, the police had unearthed Uthra's gold jewellery from Sooraj's house yard. It was Surendran who showed the exact spot where the gold was buried. Following this, Surendran was interrogated and later taken into custody.
