KOLLAM: The crime branch will question Surendran, father of Sooraj arrested in Uthra murder case, will be questioned today. The investigating ream will try to know his role in the murder and what they did with the gold. 37.5 sovereigns of gold were recovered from the yard of Sooraj’s house. Surendran confessed to have buried the gold in their yard after hours of interrogation. Sooraj had earlier told police that his father is aware of everything. Sooraj’s mother Renuka and Surya will be questioned today. The investigating team will try to know whether they have a role in the conspiracy.
The crime branch had yesterday examined Sooraj’s house in Adoor. This is the second time in a week’s time the crime branch team is collecting evidence in the case. The evidence was collected by a team led by crime branch DySP A Ashokan and it lasted for three hours.
Forensic and revenue team were with the investigating team. The team inspected the couple’s bedroom, the staircase, terrace and the back side where the snake was kept. Revenue officials led by the tahasildar prepared the sketch of the house and handed it over to the investigating team.
Surendran had told the investigating team that he had taken Uthra’s gold to buy vehicle for him. The bank locker where the gold was kept will be examined today. The investigating team obtained information that when the snake bit her the first time Sooraj was reluctant to take her to the hospital.
