WADAKKANCHERY: In an accident that occurred on Tuesday in Wadakkanchery, a male nurse who was an emergency care worker with an ambulance, died on the spot while on the way rushing a patient to the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Jibumon V Kuriakose(40), a nurse belonging to the Paalana Institute of Medical Sciences in Palakkad.

The accident took place near the Wadakkanchery railway station at around 11 am when the ambulance lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle. The ambulance then went on to hit the wall of a nearby building before overturning. Jibu, who fell out of the ambulance, died on the spot, sources said. The ambulance was carrying an injured woman who was involved in a motorcycle accident. Three others who were in the ambulance were rushed to the hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
