KOCHI: The Kerala High Court refused to stay the act of the education department starting online classes in the state. The state government informed the court that what they started now was a trial run. The government said they are seeking help from many including sponsors to make arrangements for students to study. After considering all these, the court decided not to stay the proceedings. The single bench forwarded the plea to the bench of the chief justice.

The government informed the court that online classes will continue till June 14. After that if there are any changes that need to be made then will see to it. Classes will begin only after solving the problems faced by the students. The government is seeking sponsors to get TV and smart phone for students who do not have access to e-learning. The government informed the court that they have obtained many sponsors by now.

The plea demanded suspension of online classes without arranging adequate facilities. The plea was filed by a parent in Kasargod. The court said the online classes were meant to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
