THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday said that the religious places in the state will be opened from June 8 as per the guidelines issued by the central government. People should refrain from touching idols and holy books. There should not be any distribution of prasadam and sprinkling of holy water. People must strictly follow physical distancing norms at the religious places, the CM said. He further stated that the state will implement various measures stated in the set of guidelines issued by the centre.
People above the age of 65, children below 10 years, pregnant women and those suffering from other diseases should remain at homes. People should maintain 6 feet distance at all public places including religious places. They must also wear masks and should clean their hands using soap or sanitizer.
People must cover their faces while coughing and must dispose of the tissues in a safe manner. The use of air conditioners should be avoided. However, if using the temperature must be set between 24 to 30 degree Celsius. People have also been advised against singing in groups.
