THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DGP Loknath Behera on Saturday said that a special investigation team of the Crime branch will be constituted to investigate the death of Devika, the student who allegedly committed suicide at Valanchery in Malappuram. The investigation team will be led by SP KV Santhosh.

Devika, a class 9 student of Irimbiliyam Govt Higher Secondary School, had set herself on fire on Monday after she was unable to attend online classes. According to her parents, Devika took the drastic step out of depression as the family did not have enough money to repair the damaged TV. Her dead body was found on the courtyard of another house on Monday evening.
