THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the state reporting over 200 COVID-19 cases in the last two days, the total number of active cases in Kerala has reached 1029. At present, more than 100 persons each are undergoing treatment in Palakkad, Kannur and Malappuram districts. While Palakkad has reported 160 active cases, 127 persons are undergoing treatment in Kannur. Meanwhile, as many as 120 persons are undergoing COVID-19 treatment in Kannur.
Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts have reported 74 and 72 active cases respectively. It must be noted that Kollam had reported the highest number of COVID cases in the state today(19). Of the 19 persons who tested positive in Kollam today, 11 are medical students who had recently returned from Tajikistan.
Pathanamthitta accounted for 59 active cases, Alappuzha 66, Kottayam 33, Idukki 22, Ernakulam 48, Thrissur 77, Kozhikode56, Wayanad 16 while Kasargod reported 99 active cases. Meanwhile, the state is relieved by the fact that 30 patients from Palakkad have tested negative for the virus on Saturday.
With 10 more hotspots identified in the state on Saturday, the total number of hotspots have reached 138.
