KOCHI: A person who came from Maharashtra with a coronavirus negative certificate has been tested positive for the virus. The infection was confirmed in a navy officer who travelled from Mumbai to Kochi. The officer came to Kerala in the first week of June.

Afterwards, he was placed under observation at a hotel and later was tested before entering his job and it returned positive for COVID-19.

Subsequently, six health workers and two police officers who came in contact with the navy officers were placed under quarantine. The navy officers was asymptomatic.
