POTHENCODE: Man commits suicide after being asked to report at a police station here. JS Rajukumar (38), of Raju Bhavan in Chempazhanthy Ahladapuram, killed himself by hanging without going to the station. The police earlier got a petition that Rajukumar hit his wife and daughter.

On Saturday night, Rajukumar reached home drunk and without any provocation threw the phone of his daughter, who was engaged in an online class, into a well. A fight broke out due to this and Rajukumar thrashed his wife and daughter. The mother and daughter fled from here and went to a care centre and spent the night there. The following morning, they lodged a complaint at Kazhakkoottam police station. CI called Rajukumar over phone and asked him to come to the station. Though he initially said he'll come, later he called the police officer and said he is going to commit suicide.

When the police reached his house in Ahladapuram, he had already hung himself. Rajukumar was taken to a private hospital in Kazhakkoottam but had died by then. Wife: Vinimol. Daughter: Anooja. Mother: Sreedevi.
