THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The authorities of the college, where Anju P Shaji wrote the exam, has alleged that she had come to the exam hall after writing certain portions of lessons on the backside of her hall ticket. “This was found during the examination of the hall ticket,” they said at a press conference on Monday.
Anju’s body was found in Meenachil on Monday morning and she is suspected to have committed suicide out of humiliation.
“One hour after the exam started, she was asked to meet the principal and give explanation in writing. She didn’t do that but walked out of the class. The allegation that the principal had threatened her and rudely behaved with her is false. We have acted as per University rules. The documents concerned have been handed over to the police,” they clarified.
The college also exhibited the student’s hall ticket and CCTV visuals at the press conference .
Anju was a BCom student of St Antony’s Parallel College. The University had allotted the exam centre at Cherppunkal BVM Holy Cross College.
Meanwhile, Anju’s family members said Anju might have committed suicide after she was hurt by the action taken against her by the college authorities.
In all exams in the last semester, Anju had good marks. The teachers of the Parallel College, where she studied also confirmed this.
