MANSA: A Class 11 student from Punjab has allegedly hung herself as she did not have a smartphone to use for online classes, sources said. The incident occurred in Mansa district in Punjab.

According to sources, the victim had been demanding her father to buy a new smartphone so that she can attend her classes. However, the father was unable to do so because of the family's poor financial condition. The victim's family said that the girl was under immense stress during the last few days and eventually committed suicide.

Earlier, a Class 10 student had set herself on fire in Kerala as she was unable to attend online classes.
