THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The locals and the police jointly caught a COVID infected person who fled from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The native of Anad who was admitted in the hospital on May 29 fled from the hospital while undergoing treatment. Reports said his results were negative in the COVID test conducted yesterday.
He fled from the COVID ward wearing the special dress given by the hospital. The local residents identified him when he reached Anad in KSRTC bus. The locals including panchayat members stopped him and informed hospital authorities and the police. He was taken to the hospital in ambulance. There are serious lapses on the side of the medical college. There was an allegation against the hospital for the delay in testing the swab samples of Fr K G Varghese who died of the virus in the hospital.
