THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police will be able to find out the truth behind the allegation over the handwriting found behind the hall ticket of Kanjirapally St Antanoy’s College BCom student Anju Shaji, who was found dead in Meenachil river a few days ago.
While the college authorities maintain that it is Anju’s handwriting, her father Shaji has been persistently saying that it is not.
Thiruvananthapuram Forensic Science lab’s single test will bring out the truth.
Video Spectral Comparator 2000 (VSC 5000), made in America and costing more than one crore rupees in this lab can easily prove that.
It is a forensic laboratory tool in the analysis of questioned documents. The imaging device allows an examiner to analyze inks, visualize hidden security features, and reveal alterations on a document.
There has not been error in the finding even in a single case. In some cases, the accused has even got capital punishment. This machine works on the basic principal that every handwriting is unique. The machine has come in handy for the police in thousands of cases like Varkala Salim case, Thodupuzha New Man College hand chopping case and Solar case.
However, the police can handover the handwritten document for test only under the instructions of a court.
