THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the suicide of a Covid patient from Anad, one more person who was under observation for the disease committed suicide on Wednesday evening.
He was the 38-year-old Nedumangadu native Murukeshan. It was on Tuesday that he was admitted to the hospital. In the Isolation ward, his body was seen hanging from the ceiling fan using his dhoti. Though he was shifted to Intensive care unit, he breathed his last.
Anad native, who had attempted suicide in the morning died by noon when he was under treatment in the Intensive Care unit. He had fled the hospital on Tuesday and was later brought back.
After slinking from the Isolation ward, he boarded a KSRTC bus and reached Anad. The people there identified him and send him back to the hospital with the help of police.
The man had collapsed when he was drinking with his friends and his disease was confirmed on May 29. According to the health workers, he had contracted Covid during his trip to Tamil Nadu to buy liquor.
In the last test conducted he had turned negative for Covid. He would have got discharge from the hospital after two days but without waiting for that, he ended his life.
