KOTTAYAM: Mother of Alphons Kannanthanam, former union minister and current Rajyasabha MP, passed away. Brigitte (90) is a member Illikkal family in Anikkad. She was staying with Kannanthanam in Delhi for the past three months. She is mother to Jolly (Bengaluru), Mercy (Germany), Sisi (Kanjirappally), Sofi (America), Rajan (Manimala), Roy (Thiruvananthapuram), Fr. George, Preethi (Chalakkudy). She had two adopted children-Paul (Manimala) and Mini (Kozhikode). In-laws: Dev, Host, Sheela, Sunny (late), Mani (late), Lisi, Anu, Davis, Lima, Jose. Funeral will be held at Manimala St. Basil Church cemetery.

Brigitte was active in humanitarian causes.
