KOTTAYAM: The investigating panel appointed by the University reviewed that Anju P Shaji faced mental harassment in the exam hall. The authorities made her sit in the hall for a long time. However, the investigating team said the probe is still continuing and nothing can be divulged now.

The University law is that if found guilty, the student should not be allowed to sit in the exam hall. The investigating team said that she was made to sit in the hall for an hour which is a serious offence. Preliminary assessment reached such a conclusion.

A three-member team of M G University led by Dr M S Murali had visited BVM College on Wednesday. Anju Shaji committed suicide by jumping into the Meenachil River after she was caught for copying in the exam.

Dr Murali said they examined whether there has been a violation of university rules. They recorded the statement of the Principal and the invigilator and then examined the CCTV footages. The team also collected the details of the students who sat next to the student.

The first report will be submitted to the vice chancellor on Friday after convening a meet. Kottayam SP Jayadev, Pala DySP K Baiju Kumar and Kanjirapally DySP J Santhosh Kumar also reached the college.
